EstDomains Update: Notice of Termination Stayed

On 28 October 2008, ICANN sent a notice of termination to EstDomains [PDF, 76K]. Based on an Estonian Court record, ICANN has reason to believe that the president of EstDomains, Vladimir Tsastsin, was convicted of credit card fraud, money laundering and document forgery on 6 February 2008.
Pursuant to Section 5.3 of the Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA), ICANN may terminate the RAA before its expiration when, “Any officer or director of [a] Registrar is convicted or a felony or of a misdemeanor related to financial activities, or is adjudged by a court to have committed fraud or breach of fiduciary duty, or is the subject of judicial determination that ICANN deems as the substantive equivalent of any of these; provided such officer or director is not removed in such circumstances.”
ICANN received a response from EstDomains regarding the notice of termination. [PDF, 853K] To assess the merits of the claims made in EstDomains’ response, ICANN has stayed the termination process as ICANN analyzes these claims.
ICANN’s records indicate that EstDomains has approximately 281,000 domain names under its management. ICANN will take all reasonable measures to protect the interests of registrants during the stay period and the subsequent termination process that may follow. Какая-такая PRIVACY? Шо вы мне тут лепите? Или Estdomains продолжает шалить с WHOIS.
Июль 13th, 2008Прошло уже наверное месяца полтора с момента, когда Estdomains.com устроили козью морду своим пользователям, по-тихому грохнув заявленную ранее как FREE услугу, а именно - PRIVACY для определенных зон.
В двух словах - скрытие информации во WHOIS (ну не в двух словах, но все же…)
Подумал, попаниковал малость, оставил как есть. Ибо не такое уж и палево, но все равно стрёмно крайне. Вот, к примеру,

Сегодня вечером зашел в админку у (я через них ряд доменов регистрил - весьма выгодно), прошел в тикеты, полюбовался на ответ, что продолжаются проблемы на стороне регистратора Estdomains. Пошел к Эстам, поглядеть, что там и как.. Ну воз и поныне там. Только телега нынче повернута другим боком - вновь появилась кнопка “Частная регистрация” (ну какой уж есть перевод фразы privacy protection). Думаю - “Ага… это Ж-Ж-Ж - неспроста”. Нажимаю - и…. Хрентевсумку, дорогой товарищ! А именно (дословно): For information on Privacy Protection please click here

Подивился крайне такому информативному ответу. Грустно отрефрешил страницу. И в этот момент произошел невеликий лаг, и я увидел заветную кнопку ENABLE, что тут же скрылась из виду. Полез в код страницы - ага, есть родимая… Ну думаю, не иначе стилями скрывают. Щелкнул по Firebug’у (кстати - один из наиполезнейших инструментов!), пошел аккуратно разворачивать страницу…
вот оно… цуко… запрятанное… пометил его красным

Мысль в сторону Эстов - шоб вам 10к доменов так перелопачивать вручную!!!
